The Orchard Hosts Kentucky Derby-Themed Fundraiser
On a beautiful spring evening in May, The Orchard welcomed guests to a memorable night of Mah Jongg, fellowship, and philanthropy in the courtyard of The Rose Garden, the community’s memory care neighborhood.
More than 40 Mah Jongg players gathered dressed in their finest Kentucky Derby-inspired attire, complete with festive hats, bright colors, and plenty of Southern charm. The event combined lively rounds of Mah Jongg with meaningful support for a cause close to many hearts.
Guests enjoyed heavy hors d’oeuvres prepared by The Orchard’s Executive Chef, Michael Moore, before settling in for an evening filled with laughter, friendly competition, and Derby-day spirit.
Thanks to the generosity of attendees, The Orchard raised a meaningful contribution in support of the Alzheimer’s Association. Prizes were awarded throughout the evening, making the event both impactful and entertaining for all involved.
“The evening was a wonderful reminder of the power of community coming together for a meaningful cause,” said Sandra Strain, Community Relations Director for The Orchard. “We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us, embraced the theme, and helped make the night such a success.”
The Orchard continues its commitment to supporting individuals and families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and dementia through education, compassionate care, and community engagement initiatives throughout the year.
